What is Tomlinson's White City Cat Rescue?
Tomlinson's White City Cat Rescue is a private organization based in Fort Pierce, FL, dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens and facilitating their adoption throughout South Florida.
What is the adoption process?
1. Fill out the adoption application
2. Meet the kitten
3. Sign the adoption contract
4. Pay the adoption fee
5. Take the kitten home
6. If not already done, take the kitten to the HSTC for its spay/neuter when arranged
How much is the adoption fee?
Average adoption fees
Kittens: $80
Adult cats: $0 - $40
The adoption fee covers the spay/neuter, etc. of the kittens through the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast.
The adult cats may be free or we will ask an adoption fee up to $40 to help cover the cost of their care.
What are the adopter requirements?
There is an adoption application to fill out before adopting. If approved, you are able to adopt.
The adopter is required to take the kitten to the appointment scheduled at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast to get the kitten spayed/neutered if it has not been already done. The adopter must be able to provide an inside or inside/outside home, depending on the cat. We prefer to place our cats into homes where they will be inside only (unless on a leash or safely contained), except for the former community cats, which can provide great pest control!
If the cat or kitten doesn't work out we ask you to bring the cat back to us or notify us before finding it a new home.
What is the adoption application for?
The adoption application helps us decide if the potential adopter can provide a good home for the cat or kitten.
What happens if cat doesn't work out?
If the cat doesn't work out we ask you to return the cat. If you are unable to do so we can help you find it home. We will do our best to find it a new family!
Does anything come with the cat?
Every cat comes with a small care package which includes a small amount of dry & canned food, a toy, and information papers.
Are the cats vetted?
The adult cats have been spayed/neutered and have received a rabies vaccine. Unless the kittens are already fixed & vaccinated, the adopters will take their kittens to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast for their spay/neuter, etc. appointment soon after adoption.
All cats will have received flea treatment & dewormer before adoption.
